CHARITY PRESENTATION TO COUNTY AIR AMBULANCE

Well we pulled it off once again, a good Christmas party took place a at Green Heath Progressive working men’s club Hednesford.
We presented a cheque to Mr Arthur Worthington, Fundraising Service Manager for County Air Ambulance who gave a short speech on how it all works and also how every little bit of money helps to keep the helicopters in the air, in return he then presented us with a certificate (witch we are very proud to receive) to say that the Mingers MCG Cannock took part in saving lives.
Every one was rocking away to the sounds of Tonto who was on form as usual and all was scoffing a great buffet prepared by our Trish and Kerry once again.
I would like to thank on behalf of The Mingers MCG, Mr Arthur Worthington County Air Ambulance and all that made the effort to attend our party, also the staff at Green Heath Club, all Minger members that made the evening possible, also all the raffle prizes that was donated by members.

 The 2nd MINGER MADNESS 2008

Well we did it again, The 2nd Minger Madness at The Lower Lode Inn, the weather was good, and every one had fun and laughter all weekend, the Friday night band Tailgaters were fantastic, they commented to me how good it was to see so many of you dancing in front of them. Tonto DJ played the rest of the evening out with all the great sounds we love to hear. Saturday morning, oow arr, me head, well that’s what you get for having fun. Saturday went pretty slow but no one seemed to be botherd, just chilling out with a nice cottage pie along with some of the best real ale’s around and watching the boats passing by. The ferry was running from 11 am over the seven and only a mile into Tewksbury where the Tewksbury Water Festival was taking place, (not quite as bad as this time last year was it) The Gurnning took place about 3.30pm, well not so many ugly buggers this year but mad sue and Jackie managed to find three finalist to take part later in the evening. OK, its party time again starting off with our faithful Tonto followed at 9.30pm by Highway who came on playing great classic, modern and the stuff they wrote. The raffle and awards giving took place around 10.30 along with the final of the Gurnning. We are proud to say that the Band Highway did something extremely different for there first time ever, they came from all 4 corners of the room in tribute gear and after a few songs it was time for KISS, out of the fog appeared a rock legend, Gene Simmons, well he looked like him (see photo gallery) Well what a fantastic night enjoyed by all, we attempted to finish off with Barnacle Bill the Sailor but the guys were useless, never mind, try a bit harder next year. We would like to thank all you lot (our Guests) that gave us your 100% support at our 2nd Minger Madness 2008 Rally witch went great, we would like to thank Samantha our lovely Land Lady & her staff, the bands Tailgaters, Highway who are aged between 13 & 14 years old, and last but not least, TONTO, a rally is not a rally without him. THANK YOU ALL.

 The 1st Minger Madness 2007

After the flood disaster at the minger madness rally in July we just had to rearrange it, so Samantha the land lady & I set a date for 14th-15th September, it was the only date available and didn’t it pay off. Minger We was on site Wed afternoon making sure all was well, on Thursday we set up along with the stall holders. Friday morning the bikes started rolling in, it was a site for sore eyes, and the camping area filled up very well, every one was chilled out on the banks of the river seven along with cool beer and an excellent bit of grub from Spider & the Pub. The Fri night started off with Tonto, a great rock DG from west midlands, and was followed up by a really fantastic band called Fused; they really excelled on the night and performed some great classic rock. Sat morning started off with the usual bad head & Gut, but once again the sun shone on the Minger Madness rally, a few members of BOF rolled up with water wings, snorkels & goggles, I think they came prepaid for a flood, LOL. Minger Jackie went around with the life ring looking for candidates to gurn for the camera, it was great, what a load of ugly buggers we had. Tonto set the pace early evening followed by the raffle (Proceeds to Acorns Children's Hospice) draw and trophy presentations witch didn’t take long as we prepared for a fantastic band called Swallow, hell did they make the ground move. All in all what a perfect first ever rally for the Mingers MCG, we hope you enjoyed it and will all return on 18th 19th July 2008 with your water wings, nose clips, snorkel, flippers or anything you think will save you from the floods. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SURPORT
